Sydney, Australia, 28th December 2008: After a token gesture of opening some
crossings to Gaza yesterday, Israel has again shown its true horrific
colours in following the food and medical aid with bombs and bullets. In
less than 24 hours over 230 people have been killed, with over 700 injured.
Nothing better can be expected from the 'only democracy' in the Middle East
which was established on the basis of the displacement of an entire people,
killing and terror.

An emergency gathering will be held tomorrow (Monday 29th December) on
Haldon Street, Lakemba at 1.30pm in condemnation of this atrocity.

Uthman Badar, media representative of Hizb-ut-Tahrir Australia, says,

*"Our hearts go out to our brothers and sisters in Gaza and the body of the
entire Ummah shivers with the pain that has afflicted them."*

*"Not surprisingly, the rulers in the Muslims lands have shamelessly
responded to bombs and bullets used against innocent civilians with words
and empty talk. The Muslims around the world must continue to account them
for this incident again proves that the only solution to Palestine is
military liberation, and no less."*

*"We call upon the Muslims of Sydney to partake in tomorrow's gathering to
condemn these attacks."*
